
Mrs. Lizzy Ebeledike, Lady Captain of Port Harcourt Golf has assured participants absolute safety ahead of that the 2021 Port Harcourt Ladies Open scheduled for this weekend and expected to attract more than 130 participants.
Ebeledike, while briefing press ahead of the event that entered its 30th edition this year said there is consciousness of the Covid19 pandemic and that is why the organizing committee devised better arrangement with a view to decongest the golf course.
“We are not leaving any stone unturned towards ensuring a memorable tournament and we are also putting proper measures in place to comply with the new normal that operates all over the world. The good thing with the game of golf is that it is not contact sports; moreover, it is an outdoor game with a lot of trees where one can breathe fresh air.
The Lady Captain however, commended the sponsors that came out to support the event, stressing that sponsorship have not been so easy like before, due to the adverse effect of the pandemic on economic status of the multi-national companies.
“We are thankful to those that supported us; we were able to get few corporate support and so many individual sponsors,” said Chief Ebeledike.
Ebeledike added that she has been trying to fulfill all promises made in her inaugural address as the Lady Captain of the club, which include bringing in new innovation that will move this lady section forward.
The lady Captain however thanked all and sundry that had supported her vision while thanking God for making it possible for her to do her best in lifting the lady section of PHC to a higher pedestal for where she met it.
