Federal Government has approved the appointment of Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero as the Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Cross River State.
It was reported that the Pro Chancellor of the University, General Matthew Luther Agwai (RTD) disclose this, on Wednesday, when he led members of the council on a congratulatory visit to the Emir at his Palace.
Agwai said the University of Calabar community were overwhelmed and happy with the appointment of Emir Aminu Ado Bayero as the new University’s Chancellor.
General Matthew Luther Agwai (RTD) maintained that with the vast experience of the Emir ,the university would achieved greater height of academic excellence.
Responding , The Emir of Kano Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero expressed gratitude to the Federal Government for finding him worthy to serve as the Chancellor of the University.
” We are quite conversant with the university of Calabar in Cross River State,and we’ll try our possible best in ensuring that Academic Excellence is being Achieved “
The Emir solicited the support of all members of the Council and the University Community in ensuring that the desired goals are accomplished.
He then commended the tireless efforts of the Pro Chancellor, General Matthew Luther Agwai,and members of the University community, urging them to sustain the tempo .
