Today we celebrate 5 Years to the tape that changed it all for award winning artist, Flvme. Not only is Clouds a game changer but the debut project by Flvme. This is indeed an era that one misses as the consumption rate for music was different. I remember when the tape dropped as if it were yesterday. We were writing exams that year headed closer to the festive season and I was one heartbroken fella as I had a lot of time on my hands to introspect on life and see what needs to be done.
Flvme then decided to release his debut project titled ‘Clouds’ right after the release of A-Reece’s 2nd album ‘From Me to You & Only You’. This was right at the beginning or rather rise of the infamous ‘Wrecking Crew’. They changed the whole narrative on value and substance within the music space. Flvme was always one to lead with the amazing hooks and this tape allowed us to get to know who Flvme is as well as the extent to his musical talent as he was known as the ‘one take’ guy in studio.
This tape still slaps as it is a very much authentic sound from Flvme and stands out for a debut project as once again it shifted how music is consumed. ‘Clouds’ finally turns 5 and without a doubt it deserves a dedication post like this as it is well structured project with relatability based on the lyrics and beat selection.
