Marumo Gallants chairman Abram Sello has finally opened up about the latest news regarding his two employees Rufus Matsena, who is the team’s media liaison and physiotherapist Tebogo Amos Dlomo, who have been stuck in Libya for almost three weeks now.

The two Gallants employees have been stuck in Libya following a “financial dispute” with a hotel owner in the North African country after their Caf Confederation Cup match with Al Akhdar.
Gallants are reported to have gotten into a financial dispute with a hotel owner in Libya after failing to settle their bill, and Matsena and Dlomo are held in the country as collateral.
In the statement released on Friday, the club revealed that they’ve held a virtual meeting with South African Department of International Relations and Cooperations (Dirco), South African Football Association (Safa), the Libyan embassy in South Africa, SA’s ambassador to Tunisia, Libyan hotel owner, Matsena, Dlomo and other relevant officials.
“My people belong here at home in South Africa (SA) with their families, especially over the Easter period. Both men are extremely emotional and exhausted, and need to return to their homes and loved ones,” read the statement from the club.
“I am trying my utmost best to get my people back to South African soil. This is an active case and a very sensitive one. My priority is to get my employees back safely.”
Sello added that they have not been ignoring the media with the club having failed to make any comments regarding the situation.

“We are not ignoring the media, we have to take into account the various factors that influence this matter and act accordingly.”
Meanwhile, Gallants, who have been a surprise in the Confederation Cup have managed to reach the quarter-finals of the competition after finishing on top of their group.
