Zoalize was crowned Miss World South Africa last year.

The 72nd Miss World pageant has officially commenced in India, following its launch this past Saturday in Hyderabad.

The grand finale will take place on 31 May 2025 at the HITEX Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad, Telangana.

Representing South Africa this year is 18-year-old Zoalize Jansen van Rensburg.

The Pretoria-born beauty queen was crowned Miss World South Africa in October last year during a dazzling ceremony at Sun City in the North West.

Balancing studies, work, and advocacy

Van Rensburg, who currently works as a digital and marketing executive at Scuderia Ferrari South Africa while pursuing her law studies, is also committed to charitable work.

She has partnered with organisations addressing urgent social issues.

“One of our new partners is a non-profit called Unchain Our Children, which focuses on combating injustice in various forms, such as gender-based violence, rape, domestic abuse, welfare injustice, and human trafficking,” she shared in a press statement following her crowning.

Her journey as an advocate began in 2020, sparked by a personal experience that led her to launch a youth development initiative titled Never Too Young To Advocate.

“I had a personal silencing experience where my voice was held inferior by an adult, purely because of my age. That feeling of defeat is something I wish upon no one.

“After some time, I realised this silencing was happening all around me. I believe we still live in a culture that teaches children to only respond when spoken to. #PowerOfVoice is our superpower, and no opinion or voice should be disregarded or looked down on because of age,” she shared on her website.
