
Kano City, the political capital of Kano State is seemingly and gradually turning away from its rich historical heritage to one of unwanted notoriety of cursed land in recent times giving the spate of killings and other nefarious activities going on.
This is as calls for justice are growing following the killing of five-year old Hanifa Abubakar of Noble Kids and Nursery Primary School, another 12-year-old school girl, Zuwaira Gambo, has been reportedly murdered in same Kano State.
Governor Abdullahi Ganduje made the disclosure at the Government House on Wednesday.
He received the Executive Secretary, National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Tony Ojukwu, represented by a Commissioner, Abubakar Muhammad.
The federal agency’s leadership visited Ganduje on a condolence visit over the death of Hanifa.
“There is another case of one Zuwaira Gambo, 12 years old, who was also murdered,” Ganduje revealed.
Daily Post reported that governor confirmed the arrest of the perpetrator by security agents.
“The case is going hand in hand with that of Hanifa. We are committed to seeing that justice is done,” he said.
Ganduje thanked the NHRC for its concern over the incident and assured of partnership on the matter.
