Heavy K struggles to reach Samthing Soweto for ‘Ulele’ music video shoot

Heavy K found himself under fire after publicly calling out Samthing Soweto about the lack of a music video for their collaborative song, “Ulele.”

The two musicians released the hit track last year, but no music video has been made yet. While Samthing Soweto was trending on Twitter due to the controversy surrounding DJ Maphorisa’s alleged exploitation, Heavy K took the opportunity to tweet directly at him, asking, “Can we shoot the ‘Ulele’ music video, bro? I’ve been trying to reach out…”

Heavy K’s tweet was met with criticism from some Twitter users, who accused him of being an opportunist for choosing to address the issue while Samthing Soweto was in the spotlight for a different reason. They felt that Heavy K was trying to capitalize on the situation rather than genuinely reaching out to his collaborator.

In response to the backlash, Heavy K defended himself, clarifying that the song is a shared project and that he has been trying to get the music video done since December of the previous year.

He concluded by saying that if he eventually decides to shoot the music video without Samthing Soweto, he doesn’t want any criticism

“If I shoot the music video without him then nizothi boycott Heavy K, y’all must remember I tried to reach out & ke mase niright after y’all have dealt with family affairs then y’all promise to help me to get Sam on Set for “Ulele” Music Video,” he wrote.
