Greta Gerwig’s Barbie caused a frenzy earlier this week when the distribution house dropped the first official trailer for the long-awaited film along with character posters and now, it feels as though Barbie fever has got the world in a vice-grip.
As part of the rollout for the film, the film’s creators have launched a website where people can go to get their own “Barbie Selfie” made along with a unique tagline.

The film follows Margot Robbie as the titular character who sets off for the human world to find true happiness after she has been expelled from Barbieland for being a less-than-perfect-looking doll.
According to Vogue, Ryan Gosling has been confirmed to star alongside Robbie, playing the iconic doll’s boyfriend, Ken.
Since Netflix’s Sex Education first aired, audiences around the world have long maintained that the show’s Emma Mackey bares a striking resemblance to Robbie and she will also appear in the film.
Her Netflix co-star Ncuti Gatwa also snagged a role in the highly anticipated film.

Joining them on the cast are Kate McKinnon, America Ferrera, Hari Nef, Issa Rae and Simu Liu among others.
The film was both written and directed by Greta Gerwig (Lady Bird) whom Vogue has dubbed a feminist auteur. She conceptualised the film with input from her partner Noah Baumbach (Marriage Story) and it is therefore expected to tackle some of the criticism levelled against the 64-year-old iconic figure.
How to make your own Barbie character poster
While most people are excited to see just who will be appearing in the film as revealed by the film’s character posters, others are itching to create a Barbie character poster (also called a Barbie selfie) of their own.

Step 1: Have a good selfie or photo of your upper body ready in your gallery

Step 4: Adjust, reposition and resize your chosen photo for the desired look

Step 6: Click continue, download your end result and share it on all your social media accounts with the #BarbieTheMovie hashtag to be part of the fun.
