However, before you go to the body shop, it is worth trying a simple home remedy for minor scratches that will restore your vehicle to its former glory.

Scratches on the bodywork are a common consequence of everyday use of a car.

Although car paints are designed to withstand a lot, minor damage is an inevitable part of use. Fortunately, there is an easy way to eliminate them, using ingredients that are often found in every home.

To effectively treat scratches, all you need is coconut oil and vinegar. The coconut oil will fill the scratch, and the vinegar will help restore the shine to the paint.

How to clean the bodywork

After washing your car, heat the coconut oil until it becomes liquid. Add a few drops of vinegar. Mix everything together, then rub the mixture in using a microfibre cloth. Finally, remove any excess oil.

This method works well for small and shallow scratches. For deeper damage that reaches the sheet metal, professional repair is recommended.

If you are looking for other methods, consider using car cosmetics such as specialist polishes and waxes. You can also reach for home remedies such as toothpaste, which, thanks to its abrasive properties, will help to reduce scratches, or salicylic alcohol, which gently dissolves the paint, allowing it to level out.
