Gavin Hunt is not pleased with the fact that his SuperSport United side have to play their remaining home games at the Tshwane University of Technology Stadium as their home ground, the Lucas Moripe Stadium, is undergoing some renovations.

What irks Hunt the most is that Matsatsantsa A Pitori have not lost a game at home, and moving to this new venue might disrupt their quest to maintain that record.

However, SuperSport were able to chisel out a win last Friday against TS Galaxy, beating them 2-0.

“We are comfortable there (at Lucas Moripe) and we enjoy it. We won leagues and trophies there and we have a good record there so it is disappointing to be playing home away from home,” said Hunt.

“There are problems in the stadium and things need to be fixed. With a lot of stadiums in the country, we leave things to chance and these things need maintenance and need to be kept up. It is disappointing because the pitch is beautiful and we love it. But it is what it is and we will make our best of this,” he added.

SuperSport have slipped down from second spot,to third, as Orlando Pirates are ahead of them on goal difference, with both sides on 43 points.

Hunt does not want to entertain the prospect of finishing as Mamelodi Sundowns’ bridesmaid as that would pave way for them to play in the Caf Champions League.

“We are a team that is run much tighter financially. I think we should leave it and just take the next game as it comes and see where we end up because if we start thinking ahead we will have problems,” said Hunt.

He went on to lament how he will have to rebuild his side after the likes of Ricardo Goss, Grant Margeman and Zakhele Lepasa, among others, will have to go back to their parent clubs.
