December 17-18 has been picked by the executives of the Ibadan Golf Club (IGC) to honour an eminent member of the clu, Otunba Abimbola Davis who will be celebrating his birthday with a golf tournament.
The acting captain of IGC, Tunji Oladosu who disclosed this to newsmen said the event will be one of the biggest birthday tournaments in the club in recent times owing to the huge interest from golfers numbering almost 150 that are registering to participate.
He however described the celebrant as an extremely upright personality who usually goes the extra mile to prove and justify whatever course he believes in. “Getting close to him, you will discover a perfect gentleman with great benevolence spirit”, he noted.
The Club Manager, Kola Ogunjobi described Otunba Davis as a kindhearted man who has contributed greatly to development of IGC since he joined, and that was responsible for the high numbers of golfers that have registered to participate in the tournament.
“Otunba Abimbola Davis is a man with a Gold heart, there is nothing we do here (IGC) that he will not support in one way or the other, in-fact, I can’t quantify his huge support in terms of funds. He’s a blessing to IGC and we can only reciprocate by celebrating him on his special day”, said IGC Club Manager.
Also speaking ahead of the birthday tournament, Mary Okunola, the lady Captain of IGC in her remarks thanked Otunba Davis for always supporting the activities of the Lady Section adding the celebrant is feminine gender friendly with the way he had supported the lady section.
“There nothing much to do to show appreciation for all he had done for the lady section of this club, from my predecessors till date. He singlehandedly sponsored the establishment of Lady Captain’s office with furniture and gadgets and has also greatly supported the caddie’s shed refurbishment on-going in the club”, said the lady captain.
