INDIA 2022: Nigeria Draw Germany, Chile In U-17 Women’s World Cup

The Flamingos of Nigeria Under-17 women’s football team have been drawn against Germany, Chile and New Zealand in the 2022 U-17 FIFA Women’s World Cup scheduled for India.

The draw which took place on Friday placed the Flamingos in Group B.

Hosts India were given USA, Brazil and Morocco to contend with in Group A, while Spain, the defending champion, will battle Colombia, Mexico and China in Group C.

Group D has Japan, Tanzania, Canada, and France.

The 8th edition of the biennial World Cup is scheduled to take place from October 11-30, 2022.

The top two teams of each group will advance to the quarter-finals based on points obtained.

In the knockout stages, teams will compete in a single-elimination style tournament with a third-place playoff also to be played between the two losing teams of the semi-finals.

India 2022 Women’s World Cup Pairings:

Group A: India, USA, Morocco, Brasil

Group B: Germany, Nigeria, Chile, New Zealand

Group C: Spain, Colombia, Mexico, China PR

Group D: Japan, Tanzania, Canada, France.
