The chairman of the Taxpayers Union of South Africa Willem Petzer claims three independent sources have confirmed what they claim transpired at the Maselspoort Resort on Christmas Day.

Two black teenagers, a thirteen and 18-year-old, were allegedly attacked by a group of white men at the resort outside Bloemfontein.

Alleged racist attack

It is alleged the white men tried to prevent the teens from using the swimming pool at the resort.

The alleged racist attacked, filmed by their sister Tumii Frost and posted on Twitter, has sparked widespread condemnation from the community, government, and political parties.

What may have happened

In a Twitter thread, Petzer shared what he says happened at the resort on Christmas Day.

“The 2 boys in question turned up at the swimming pool and harassed one of the individuals in the video’s 3-year-old daughter. They pushed her into the swimming pool, after which her father had to jump in to save her life as she can’t swim.

“After this the father asked the 18-year-old where they were camping, as he wanted to lay a complaint at the resort management against them for harassing and pushing his 3-year-old daughter into the swimming pool.

“It turned out the boys were day visitors and did not camp there,” he tweeted.

Scuffle

Petzer claimed this is when a scuffle ensued.

”The 18-year-old was not supposed to be at this swimming pool, as the particular pool was reserved for guests only. The day visitors had a separate, much bigger pool.”

“After the argument, the boy’s father apologised to the man and promised to leave if he did not press charges against the 18-year-old for abusing his 3-year-old daughter. The 2 boys and their father left the pool,” he added.

Teens returned

Petzer alleged the two teens returned with a much bigger group of day visitors, including their sister, who filmed the video.

“The group began to harass the father of the 3-year-old, calling him white trash, and a racist. The father again asked them to leave, but they refused.

“As the 2 boys continued fighting with the holiday goers, a few more men got involved in the fight, trying to get the boys to leave the area.

“At this point the 18-year-old boy allegedly said that he should have killed the man’s 3-year-old ‘white trash’ daughter,” he posted.

Video

Petzer said it was at this point that Frost recorded the video at Maselspoort Resort’s swimming pool.

“She posted this video on all social media platforms, claiming racism. This caused the EFF to rock up at the resort to harass, vandalise, and sing ‘Kill the Boer’.

“For those who can speak Afrikaans, I explained the full story in more detail on this video,” he tweeted.

Police investigating

Free State police spokesperson Brigadier Motantsi Makhele confirmed they were investigating the incident at the Maselspoort Resort.

“The suspects, who are all white males as seen on the video circulating, were warned to appear in court on a date to be set by the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court,” he said.
