LGAN Charges Abakaliki Ladies On Continuity
The Ladies Golf Association of Nigeria (LGAN) has charged the Abakaliki Golf Club (AGC) Ladies Section to ensure it sustained the gains from the hosting of its first ever Ladies Open Championship which held from November 4-6, 2021 in Abakaliki the Ebonyi State capital.
The LGAN President represented by, Joyce Nule, a former President of LGAN made the statement recently in an interview with SOKOnnect while appraising the AGC Ladies event.
According to her, “Everyone is happy that the Abakaliki Golf Club have a Lady Captain in Enene Fonne, who has shown that she has the capacity and the quality needed to lead and deliver at a higher level in making this event a huge success; but the important thing is continuity.”
“The AGC Ladies should be able to manage this success to keep the Ladies Section afloat for the good of the club and ladies golf in the State; the success should not end here; the lady golfers across the country will like to be back here again for the second Abakaliki Ladies Open next year in Jesus name…,” she said.
Commenting futher the ex-president and member of the Port Harcourt Golf Club, used the occasion to say that the ladies should brace up to the challenge posed by Amina Wilfred and Rachael Danjuma in LGAN Open Championships as their victories were becoming monotonous.
“Ladies let’s wake up and prove ourselves in this game; we’re tired of everytime Amina and Rachael! throw up a challenge, let us see new faces on the podium and that will show that ladies golf in Nigeria is improving, that the players are also improving and that Nigerian golf is improving too,” she emphasised.
It would be recalled that the AGC Lady Captain, Fonne, had applauded LGAN for its supports to ensure the success of the event: “I can’t thank LGAN enough for standing by us to ensure this event was successful, God bless bless LGAN”
