Mampintsha’s memorial service

Mandla ‘Mampintsha’ Maphumulo gets honoured with a memorial service held at Bishop Vusi Dube’s eThekwini Community Church in the Durban CBD on Thursday, 29 December 2022.

The musician’s record label West Ink confirmed his passing in an official statement released on the 24th.

“Husband, father, musician and West Ink CEO Mandlenkosi Mampintsha Maphumulo has died,” it said.

“Details of his passing cannot be shared with the public, The family of Mandlenkosi Maphumolo, aka Mampintsha, as well as the West Ink team, has asked for privacy at this difficult time, and will release a statement in due course.”

The Big Nuz member died on Saturday morning after suffering a second stroke in the hospital.

Tributes have been poured out, while condolences sent to his wife, Babes Wodumo and other family members.

The family spokesperson revealed that Mandla’s wife, Babes Wodumo is coping well.

“With regards to Babes, as I have said before, when you lose your loved one, it is not easy. For the past two days, she was not okay, but we are a family that believes in God; we pray for everything, and the prayers of both families, the Simelane’s and the Maphumulo’s, have helped and sustained her.”
