Manchester United are stepping up their pursuit of former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane – according to The Times.
The Red Devils are working to convince the Frenchman to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who has come under huge pressure after a poor start to the season.
United are hopeful that the presence of ex-Madrid stars Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo will persuade Zidane to take up a new challenge in the Premier League.
Similarly, Brendan Rogers, Leicester boss has been identified as top target to replace Solskjaer also in the race.
Rodgers is said to have started looking for a house in Cheshire after being identified as the top candidate to take over as Manchester United coach, according to The Sun.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks set to be sacked by the Old Trafford side in the near future and the Leicester manager is the man the Red Devils want to take his place.
In the same vein, the Old Trafford side are ready to move on Jesse Lingard – according to The Sun.
The 28-year-old will be allowed to leave for £10 million when the transfer window reopens, having struggled for regular minutes at the start of the season.
Lingard returned to Old Trafford from a successful loan spell at West Ham in the summer, with the Hammers ultimately failing to arrange a permanent deal.
West Ham tried to sign Lingard in the summer but the move fell through after United demanded £25m ($34m).
But as Lingard’s contract runs into its final months, United may be forced to accept much less in January to avoid losing him on a free.
Dean Henderson, the goalkeeper would also be allowed to leave on an 18-month loan, reports The Sun.
Henderson has lost out to David de Gea in the battle for United’s starting role and is set to pursue more minutes at a new club.
