Mr Eazi has shared “See Something,” his new single featuring DJ Neptune (Nigeria) , Shatta Wale ( Ghana ), Medikal ( Ghana ) and Minz (Nigeria). Listen HERE.
The pan-African banger is Mr Eazi’s second dive into amapiano following the success of his first ever amapiano record “Patek”, the genre that’s exploded out of South Africa’s dance music underground to become a global phenomenon recently.
Mr Eazi wrote an early version of the song on a whim at a friend’s wedding after which he enlisted one of Africa’s biggest DJs, DJ Neptune as well as Ghana’s rap star Shatta Wale. Produced by DJ Tárico, whose amapiano smash “Yaba Baluku” took Africa by storm over the past year; it can be said that Mr Eazi is set to make this December definitely one to remember. After a brief snippet posted to Instagram and tiktok generated hundreds of user-generated videos and millions of views, the snippets’ name tags have gone ahead to reveal that Eazi later recruited Ghanaian rapper Medikal and Nigerian rising star Minz to help him finish the track — and crystallize its banger status.
The result is yet another light hearted and breezy tune by Mr Eazi celebrating and promoting self love and appreciation; from body type to social class. Mr Eazi’s message in “ See Something “ is one that promotes happiness and self appreciation.
“If you thought you loved Patek, then wait till you listen to See Something,” Mr Eazi says. “It’s a fun song that I can’t wait to perform. And it’s got Nigeria, Ghana and Mozambique all together on one track.”
“See Something” follows recent singles “Patek”, “Legalize” and “Personal Baby” among Mr Eazi’s 2022 releases. Fans can expect more singles from the Nigerian music superstar and African business innovator in the coming year, as he gears up to share his long-awaited official debut album later in the year 2023.
