Musa Khawula urges fans to purchase his ‘Free Musa’ merch

Controversial celebrity blogger Musa Khawula is using his time behind bars to rally support, launching a “Free Musa” T-shirt for sale.

Taking to social media, Khawula called on his followers to purchase the shirts, stating that proceeds would help cover his legal expenses.

“Since I’m in custody, costs have arisen, and I want to give you the chance to show support for the Pope of Pop Culture,” he wrote, adding that new merchandise would be available soon.

Meanwhile, Khawula remains in custody as his case faces yet another delay. His legal team raised concerns about his confiscated cellphone, arguing that it contains crucial information for his defense.

Dressed in all black and a “Free Musa” T-shirt, he appeared briefly at the Randburg Magistrate’s Court, where his case was postponed to April 9 and 10. Khawula faces charges of hate speech, crimen injuria, and violating the Cyber Crimes Act following a series of statements he made about businessman Ze Nxumalo in October 2024.

Additionally, the blogger appeared in the Fochville Magistrate’s Court for a separate case involving alleged attempted murder and reckless driving linked to a hit-and-run incident in 2021.

He remains in custody until his next court appearance.
