Nadia Nakai and DJ Zinhle recently spent quality time with slain rapper AKA’s family, as seen in new photos shared on social media.
AKA’s mother Lynn Forbes, his father Tony and his daughter Kairo were also present in the images.
The rapper was brutally killed in February, outside Wish Restaurant on Durban’s Florida Road. He left behind his parents, his girlfriend, his daughter and her mother.
Although the blended family faced challenges after the tragic death of the rapper, their close bond has been instrumental in helping them through the healing process.
Lynn Forbes keeps her promise
Lynn has followed through on the promise she made to DJ Zinhle and Nadia Nakai at AKA’s memorial service in February. During the service, she assured them that they would always be part of the family, given that Zinhle is the mother of AKA’s daughter and Nadia was AKA’s girlfriend at the time of his murder.

“Forever, both of you, though Kiernan is not around anymore, you are always welcome and you will always be my daughters, and I don’t care what anybody says on social media about you. They don’t matter. You matter because I love you,” she said during her son’s memorial service.
Love transcends everything
On her Instagram page, Lynn Forbes wrote that her mother didn’t teach her how to love but instead showed her love.
The love she experienced in her upbringing is the same love she now extends to her loved ones, especially during the challenging times they are currently going through.

Despite the healing process taking time, the family is standing together and spending as much time as possible with each other after being faced with the fact that life is short. They are, therefore, making the most out of every opportunity they have.
Lynn Forbes’ Unwavering Love for Nadia and Zinhle
Despite the pain of losing her son, Lynn Forbes continues to be a source of support for the two women whom she calls her daughters.
Having treated them as part of her family, even when AKA was alive, she saw no reason for that to change after he was taken from them.
Collateral Beauty
During the family outing, Nadia Nakai, Kairo Forbes, and DJ Zinhle took a picture together, which Nadia later shared on her Instagram page.
In the caption, she wrote about the concept of “Collateral Beauty”, which suggests that even during difficult times, there is something beautiful happening that we just need to look for.
