Mzansi rapper and TV personality Nadia Nakai has jumped onto the Amapiano genre. The 32-year-old revealed on Instagram that she would be dropping an Amapiano single today (Friday), featuring Umlando hitmaker Toss.
On Wednesday night on Instagram, Nadia teased her fans and followers with a video of her, dancing with two people while her single was playing in the background.
On the caption, she wrote: “Delicious featuring @indabakabani @nadianakai @alfakat @mustbedubz drops this Friday. Majorsteez is a problem; they’re breaking all the rules.”
However, the video took a left turn when her fans and followers didn’t like the fact that she had switched genres.
Social media user @MaabuleM commented: “S?he should stick to hip hop.”
Then @ChrisExcel102 wrote: “AKA is doing Betways; Nadia is on amapiano. Hunger games at Forbes.”
Another user @NatStan231 said: “Lmao. SA is such a funny country. How do you go from being a bad b*** rapper to an amapiano artist?”
Then @BaneleNdou added: “Sounds like something we heard before. I don’t understand how she said ‘let me release this; it’s a banger’.”
Nadia Nakai made her first television appearance on e.tv hip-hop show ShizNiz, where she won the Mixtape 101 competition – making her the first woman to win it.
She then rose to prominence in 2013 when she released her debut single, titled Like Me.
