Hip-Hop artist, Nasty C successfully brings the art of gaming and music together by headlining in South Africa’s first of its kind, Call Of Duty: Mobile Activation following the return of the Ivyson Tour sponsored by Carry1st, additionally aiming to promote his latest project, the ‘Ivyson Army Tour Mixtape’. It’s officially “game day” as we capture exclusive content from this incredible experience of the first-ever collaboration brought to you by a South African rapper, being Nasty C, as he kickstarts the first leg of the Ivyson Tour!
The activation was hosted at The Emperors Palace, bringing game lovers together, as they go ‘kill for kill’ for the first-place cash prize of R5000, which was won by pro-player, Cristiano Dos Ramos, from Call Of Duty Mobile Competitive Club, ‘Cast eSports’, currently ranking number one in South Africa. The cash-prize giveaway was presented by Nasty C and Carry1st Co-Founder, Lucy Hoffman. The gamers each had a chance to challenge the COD fan himself, Nasty C.
After the exciting, highly inclusive gaming tournament, Nasty C brought out some of the biggest names in the Hip-Hop industry featuring in the Ivyson Army Tour Mixtape to take on the stage. The line-up included stellar performances by the likes of Emtee, Cassper Nyovest, Nadia Nakai, AKA, and many more. Tellaman and Maglera Doe Boy came through with euphonious vocals, as well as DJ’s including Uncle Partytime who rocked the dancefloor with electrifying sets!
The host, Tshego Koke brought positive energy to an already amped-up, jampacked crowd which was turning up to Nasty C’s biggest hits and new bangers. Featuring artists from the project performed classic throwbacks such as Cassper’s ‘Doc Shebeleza’ and Emtee’s ‘Roll-Up’, as well as new and upcoming records. I certainly enjoyed the combination of the gaming activation, leading up to the performances entirely, and I am honoured to be one of many to witness gaming and music being brought together as it has never been done before in our country. Nasty C wrapped up the show with an immaculate performance for one of the hit singles that “brought him here” as he mentioned, ‘S.M.A’ featuring R&B songstress, Rowlene.
Mobile gaming is an insightful and interesting innovation which I never would have thought about before this activation and combining it with the music side of things makes it an even more exciting initiative, one we never thought we needed. Big ups to Nasty C for bringing us an unforgettable first-hand experience with this one!
