Watch video of the latest Ferrari below:Question of powerLimited production

Prowling along European roads adorned in obstructing camouflage, the new Ferrari hypercar test mule has frequently been spotted on camera.

Ferrari’s LaFerrari has for some time held the title of the firm’s only hypercar, and since its inception, no other hypercar offering has graced the Maranello lineup, until now.

Still to be named and spotted wearing significant amounts of disguise, carmag.co.za reports that a third quarter of 2024 date has been set for production, with sales expected to start the following year.

As evident by the images, the notable physique traits of the test mule includes gaping from air intakes, staggered side air intakes contouring a geometric flank, high-riding haunches, a billboard-sized rear wing stretching from one hip to the other, twin-exit exhausts similarly styled to the rival firm’s STO offering curtailed by taillights similar to those found on the 296 GTB.

As with any Maranello-bred performance car, specs and other information have been kept under lock and key. As the successor to a nameplate steeped in automotive prestige, the LaFerrari’s performance will be a benchmark that the anticipated runner-up will need to live up to.

Question of power

When unveiled in 2013, the sultry LaFerrari was motivated by a 6.3-litre V12 producing a total of 715 kW and over 900 Nm.

Speculation leads us to assume that the powertrain of the brand’s next hypercar will be a hybridised V8 or V6 powerplant found in recent Ferrari titles.

A high power output will be is guaranteed to be on par or greater than that of the SF90 Spider, which has an output of 745 kW.

Limited production

Rumours suggest that we may see a full unveiling of the firm’s next hypercar closer to the end of this year, with potential customers likely to receive a sneak peek ahead of the reveal.

Whispers lead us to believe that the Ferrari hypercar will see less than 1 000 units produced and will serve as the curtain raiser for Ferrari’s XX and Spider, which are set to debut later this decade.
