Dorcas Oluwatunmise, the newly elected Lady Captain Ibadan Golf Club (IGC) Ladies Section has commended the members particularly the ladies for giving her an opportunity to serve.
Oluwatunmise made the statement in a chat with SOKOnnect after her (unopposed) election on Friday March 31, 2023 saying, “I’ll will not betray this rare opportunity given to me; the trust and confidence reposed in me to serve the Ladies Section in particular and the Club in general.”
She affirmed that her taking over the mantle of the leadership was to move the Ladies Section forward and by extension the IGC known as the “Home of Golf and Tradition” in Nigeria.
Incidentally, the new Lady Captain was quick to add, “This is an onerous service, hence I’ll appreciate my colleagues to extend their support in electing me to supporting me in moving the Ladies Section forward.”
“One of my beliefs in leadership is ‘all inclusive’ carrying everyone along to have a sense of belonging, while my tenure lasts; IGC is a great club in Nigeria and the Ladies Section must also be seen to be great by doing great things,” Oluwatunmise enthused.
Against this backdrop, she affirmed that uniting the ladies as well as membership drive is a priority while her tenure lasts, “United we stand, divided we fall; unity is key in every association for progress to be achieved.”
She concluded by offering prayers for positive development of the club: “Long live the Ladies Section, long live IGC.”
It would be recalled that Oluwatunmise whose tenure will last between 2023/2024 took over from Oyinlola Omajunwa.
Congratulations, I pray for your success as you lead the ladies section of the club. More wins.
We sincerely wish you the best as you lead on. Big congratulations.
Success all the way.
All the best .
