Mojeed Okedara, former Universal Boxing champion who is also the African Action Congress (AAC) gubernatorial candidate in Oyo State has reiterated the need for Nigerians especially his people in Oyo State to remain hopeful of a better tomorrow despite the challenges besetting the state and nation currently.
Okedara in a new year message released by his Media Bureau in Ibadan assured the citizens of Oyo people that he would always be found championing the cause of the people, privately or publicly, in line with his brand of progressive political ideology, while wishing everyone a blissful and prosperous year ahead.
The Champion as he is fondly called by admirer said he will always side with the masses while maintaining that ‘once there’s life, then there’s hope,’ stressing that the good times will surely come when the people of Oyo State use their voting power to effect a change in the administration of the State by giving him their mandate through ballot.
He described 2022 as a very challenging year in the history of Nigeria, urging everyone to be committed to the Nigeria project and elect good, quality people to represent them. He however advised everyone not to place ethnicity and religion sentiments above competencies.
“Let us all be committed to the Nigeria project and elect good and quality people to represent us at all levels of governance. I, Mojeed Okedara, have what it takes to turn things around for better. If voted to be the next governor of Oyo State, this maladministration in my dear state should stop.
“And on the national level, we should try not to place ethnicity and religion sentiments above Competencies and Character of those we are voting for. To the good people of Oyo State, please accept my warmest regards and best wishes for a Happy New Year. May peace, love, and prosperity follow you always,” Okedara noted.
