
Augustine Eguavoen, the Super Eagles of Nigeria Technical Adviser has resigned his position as a result of his failure to qualify Nigeria for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, with immediate effect.
In the same vein,the NFF has terminated the two-and-half year contract of the entire technical crew of Emmanuel Amunike; Alloy Agu; Joseph Yobo among others.
This development was confirmed in a press statement issued by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Friday.
The statement has thus settled the rumours making the rounds on Thursday that Eguavoen may have called it a quit with the Super Eagles
Accordding to the statement quoting the NFF General Secretary, Dr Mohammed Sanusi, “The NFF has in the meantime withdrawn the two-and-half years contract offered the coaches and terminated the appointment of the entire technical crew of the team with immediate effect.
“A new crew will be announced after a proper review to lead the new charge of reinvigorating the Super Eagles to face future challenges appropriately.
“We thank the coaches and team officials for their service to the nation and wish them success in their future endeavours.”
