Andrew Oche Odoh, a PGA of Nigeria legend and a trail blazer has been out of major golfing events recently in the continent of Africa due to circumstances beyond his control.
But the trophy hauler told SOKOnnect in an interview on Tuesday that the temporal break from the fairways has to do with sponsorship which is expected to put him in the right frame of optimum performance.
According to the arguably Nigeria’s most decorated professional with over 40 trophies in his archive, “I’m yet to get the right sponsorship.”
“Things are not in good shape at the moment; I’m still battling to get the right sponsorship to bounce back; sponsorship is very key towards good performance for me, it boosts ones moral and gives direction – it keeps one focused,” he emphasised.
Also in an emotion laden voice, Odoh who too is arguably the most traveled Nigerian professional said, “I have been pushing along on my own; this is not the best for a professional to be up there.”
But ,Odoh, who sometime ago was a regular feature on the Sunshine Tour of South Africa was quick to reveal that he has been training very hard to keep his form ahead of his return.
“However, one thing is certain I’m not living anything to chance; I’m still training very hard to keep my form and return big and better,” he concluded.
