Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis are facing a lawsuit from their former nanny, who is suing the actors for wrongful termination following their split.
In the lawsuit, filed Tuesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Wilde and Sudeikis’ ex-nanny Ericka Genaro opens up about the “unbearable stress and anxiety” inside the actors’ home following their separation and the toll it took on her mental health. She alleges she was fired when she sought a medical leave.
Genaro, who was hired in 2018 as the primary caretaker for the pair’s two children (son Otis, now 8, and daughter Daisy, 6), says Sudeikis began leaning on her for emotional support after Wilde abruptly moved out of their home in November 2020. Sudeikis would “seemingly require” Genaro to “stay up at night after the kids were put to bed” for personal conversations, which “naturally evolved to speaking about Wilde,” she alleges in the lawsuit.

She was spending more time with the actors’ children in Wilde’s absence, including on weekends when Genaro was typically off from work
As her anxiety worsened, Genaro says she arranged a meeting with Wilde in Palm Springs, California, in November 2020 to discuss the stress she was experiencing due to the couple’s home life. But while Wilde “reacted sympathetically,” Genaro says Sudeikis later revealed to her during a car ride to the airport that Wilde had told him about their private conversation.
Wilde and Sudeikis agreed to attend group therapy sessions with Genaro, as they recognized “the emotional toll the situation was having” on her, she says in the lawsuit, and the therapist referred Genaro for consultation with an osteopath in January 2021 for her “physical pain, anxiety and stress.
In February 2021, the osteopath recommended that Genaro take a three-day medical leave to address her “added stress.” The physician also advised Genaro to stop working for Wilde and Sudeikis, but Genaro informed Sudeikis that she was willing to continue working until a replacement could be found.
