As the on-going 2023 Open De Libreville 38 edition entres Day 3 on Saturday May 27 PGA of Nigeria Sunday Olapade and Inenye Wesley will be among the field contesting for the top prizes after making the cut on Thursday just as Gift Willy faded out.
The 72-hole event holding at the Libreville Golf Club saw Olapade finished 5th position haven shot 71, 71 on 142 gross over two days, 2-under course par and five shots behind leader, Visitor Mapwanya of Zimbabwe, who amassed 137 gross.

Olapade, who won his last title in November 2022 at the Chief Ikenna Okafor Pro-Am in Port Harcourt, Nigeria according to pundits would make impact in the money spinning round if his recent form is anything to go by.
In the same vein, Wesley, the second Nigerian in the money spinning round, shot 79, 78 to garner 157 gross, 13-over course par, over two days to finish 19th joint tied.
Inversely, Willy, one of the PGA of Nigeria prolific player could not make the cut after he shot 77, 82 to gross 159, 15-over over course par, over two days.

Women Playing For Position
Meanwhile, the Ladies Professional Golf Association of Nigeria (LPGAN) Captain, Sharon Wesley, told SOKOnnect exclusively on Thursday that she has not done well in the first two days.
“I’ve struggled in my first two days, but I hope to step up my game in the remaining two days; this is golf, anything can happen to change the course of event for good,” said Sharon who has promised to make Nigeria proud in the event.
Recall the women professionals are playing for position as there was no cut.
