Cape Town’s very own RAF DON delivered a visualiser for his latest drill song, ‘She Wan’ alongside Dee Koala.
The single dropped in November last year and includes female collaborators, Dee Koala and Toya Delazy.
Raf Don and Dee Koala deliver their respective lyrical performances in a monochromatic visualiser. The visuals are inspired by the gritty, black-and-white imagery from music videos such as Pusha-T’s ‘Nosetalgia‘, Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Alright‘ and Jay-Z’s ‘99 Problems‘.
In an interview, Raf Don described the thoughts evoked from hearing the term ‘drill’, which include ‘dark’, ‘hardcore lyrics’ etc. This video resembles exactly that. His description for the subgenre is shown in the dark in colour video content, as well as the hardcore lyrics he placed over the drill beat. The visuals include lyrics in a contrasting yellow font.
