Former Rhythm City actor Setlhabi Taunyane, known as “Bra Kop” opens up about his wife and family life.
The former Muvhango and Rhythm City actor Setlhabi Taunyane, who is popularly known as “Bra Kop” says his family has never accepted his Zimbabwean wife.
Taunyane reveals on King David’s Podcast that he’s learned to live with the fact that his family excludes him and his wife from family events.
“I’m trying my best, especially because my wife is from Zimbabwe. We have suffered because she’s from Zimbabwe. My family never really accepted my wife,” he says.
When King David asks how long he’s been married, Taunyane responds, “17 years”.
“I just heard that one of my cousins in Diepkloop was getting married two weeks ago and no one phoned me. It hasn’t changed because I’m married to lekwerekwere (outsider).”
“Do you understand my brother? I’ve learned to live with that. Once you are abandoned by the family, this thing grows bigger, even outside the family,” says the veteran actor.

The veteran actor Setlhabi Taunyane also opens up about his 2023 viral Thai massage videos and photos.
“Ne bare get well soon, bare kea shwa” (they were saying I must get well soon because ‘I’m dying’).
“And batho aba thlaloganye gore, I was getting a massage” (they don’t understand that I was getting a massage).
“And you know when you are getting a massage you have to go with it, ahhh and it works,” the actor tells King David.
