RockMade Relishes Beginners Golf Challenge 2024 Success

Organisers of the Beginners Golf Challenge RockMade have hailed the success of the just concluded 2024 edition and the third in the series since 2022 saying ‘the participants made the event worthwhile.’

The championship which held over the weekend at the prestigious 72 course par Abeokuta Golf Club in Ogun State, with over 80 participants from all walks of life had several winners in several categories which made the championship a special event.

Speaking during the prize presentation ceremony Mubasiru Sanusi, a team member of RockMade and a professional player was full of praises for the participants on and off the course.

“On behalf of RockMade, organisers of the 3rd Beginners Golf Challenge, I extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for your remarkable sponsorship, unwavering support and enthusiastic participation.

Your contributions have been instrumental in making this event a resounding success.” We truly appreciate your involvement and value your feedback, which will undoubtedly enhance our future editions,” Sanusi enthused.

The round of golf which marked the the high point of the championship saw Halima Agbeniyi Handicap 36, emerging the overall winner of the championship and clinching the coaches prize of N100,000; she shot 110 gross, 74 net.

In the same vein, 6-year-old girl, Adesewa Adefolu, stole the show when she featured in a special training session and exhibited the talent and skills imbued in her to the delight of golf fans on the course.

However, Nearest To The Pin which was for the Beginners only produced Jide Dosunmu as the winner, men; Longest Drive went to Adebayo Oriyomi, men and Best Endeavour was Oluwabukanla Osanyi, Handicap 36, 195 gross, 159 Net; just as the Sponsors Category was taken by Oluwatosin Ajayi, with handicap 26, he shot 102 gross and 76 Net.

Also in the winners list are, Sunday Ajiboye playing off handicap 15, shot 90 gross, 75 Net to grab the Veteran prize; prolific PGAN of Nigeria Senior Tour course maestro, Nojeem Sofela, emerged the winner of the Professionals Category with 75 gross, 3-over course par and Friends of RockMade winner was Olutayo Aderinto, Handicap 26, 95 gross, 69 Net;

The winners roll call was rounded off with the Beginners Prizes as Abolanle Adeeko Handicap 36, shot 129 gross, 93 Net to emerge winner in the Ladies Category, while the Men’s Category went to Samuel Olarinde, Handicap 28, 108 gross and 80 Net.

Incidentally, the organisers affirmed that their heartfelt will not be completed without appreciating the executive members of the Abeokuta Golf Club under the leadership of the Prof Kolawole Adebayo, the Captain, for always making available the club facilities; the Special Guest of honor, Distinguish Hon Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, Member of House of Representatives who performed the ceremonial teed off alongside the the club captain and the representative of Lady Captain, Mrs Ronke Folami; while most importantly, specially appreciating the professionals who displayed a great feat of professionalism as the event lasted.
