Amapiano and afropop singer Avuyile “Coolkiid” Nkompolo, 24, is now off the hook in his rape case involving a 13-year-old girl.
Daily Sun reports that the Stilfontein Magistrates Court withdrew the charges against the Ingelosi hitmaker on Thursday 9 February. According to the outlet, Coolkiid is free man. National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) North West spokesman Henry Mamothame said the decision to withdraw the rape charges was made as a result of “a lack of sufficient evidence.
“The rape case was withdrawn by the Stilfontein Magistrates Court as directed by the NPA following the study of the case and the evidence contained. The NPA took a decision to withdraw the matter due to a lack of sufficient evidence, which leaves the prosecution with no prospects of a successful prosecution,” Mamothame explained.
As a result of the NPA’s decision, the musician will be resuming with his gigs; starting with the All White Lover’s Picnic at La Jaidy Garden park in Stilfontein on Sunday, 26 February.
Last week, a video of the musician confessing he had sexual intercourse with an underaged girl, was shared on social media.

In the video, which was shared by Zimoja, Coolkiid is questioned by the girl’s father about the incident.
“I said to you we will see how we fix this. Tell me what you did. You’re making me a fool. You’re denying it again. Yesterday you told me it was a mistake,” the man says.
When asked why he committed the act, he repeatedly apologises. The minor’s father further questions him about the use of protection.
