Sundowns have made this league as dull as dishwater, although none of this is the Tshwane giants’ fault.

Orlando Pirates did their best to give a suggestion of a challenge to Mamelodi Sundowns’ throne this season.
In the end, however, Sundowns have sealed an eighth consecutive league title with room to breathe.
In some ways it doesn’t seem to matter who is the head coach of Sundowns, this well-oiled machine will sweep all before it in the Premiership.
Manqoba Mngqithi was hardly doing a bad job before Sundowns decided to dispose of him earlier this season and bring in Miguel Cardoso.

Cardoso has steered Sundowns to the Premiership title and also taken them into the CAF Champions League final.
The Portuguese mentor has this week expressed understandable dismay at any suggestion achieving what he has was easy.
But there is no doubt that Sundowns have made this league, in the main, as dull as dishwater. None of this is the Tshwane giants’ fault.
It is up to the likes of Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs to catch them up.
But for the neutral, the inevitability of Sundowns winning the league year after year offers little to no excitement.
