A 43-year-old suspected drug mule from Paraguay has been arrested at the OR Tambo International Airport. The latest arrest comes after another three arrests for suspected drug smuggling were made at the airport last week.
The arrests include that of a 21-year-old South African woman. Police spokesperson, Amanda Van Wyk says officers apprehended the suspect along with South African Revenue Service officials upon his arrival from São Paulo in Brazil.
“A medical examination confirmed that he had swallowed multiple foreign objects and has so far released more than 20 bullets suspected to contain cocaine. This brings the total number of drug mules arrested at this airport in the last couple of weeks to fourteen,” she says
