The student was shot during a protest on Tuesday.
Three students have been shot and wounded at the Walter Sisulu University in Mthatha, Eastern Cape.
It is understood that the students were allegedly shot by a residence manager, according to Newzroom Afrika.
It is still unclear why the students are protesting.
