Here’s what weather you can expect for your region on Sunday, 20 April 2025.

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) released its latest weather forecast for Easter Sunday, 20 April 2025.

The weather service predicts thunderstorms for several parts of South Africa, while coastal areas must brace for strong winds and cooler temperatures.

Weather warnings: Sunday, 20 April

The forecaster issued a yellow level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms expected over the eastern parts of the Northern Cape and the western areas of the Free State. These storms may result in localised damage to settlements and infrastructure, as well as flooding of roads, low-lying areas and bridges.

Additionally, a yellow level 2 warning has been issued for coastal winds that may lead to difficulty in sea navigation between Lambert’s Bay and Hermanus.
