The vodcast will spotlight Africa’s top content creators.

TikTok South Africa has teamed up with TV presenter and entertainment commentator Phil Mphela on a new vodcast titled African, All Stars with Phil Mphela.

The vodcast will showcase Africa’s top content creators, featuring in-depth interviews with them about their content creation journeys.

“The goal and vision for the vodcast is to have creatives come on to talk about how they are using new media, like social media apps, to build or enhance their careers or projects,” said Phil.

He added that they will discuss everything, including careers, monetisation, wins, and losses.

“Ultimately, it’s about getting to know them—what they do, how they do it, and what their goals are.”

What to Expect from African All Stars with Phil Mphela

The vodcast, which consists of eight episodes, each running for a captivating 10–15 minutes, will offer an exclusive look into the lives and experiences of 11 remarkable South African creatives.

The line-up includes Bacardi queen DJ_DooWap, entertainment creator Nombulelo, the multitalented Tadeus, and feel-good creator Bheki Ndamase, just to mention a few.

Head of Content Operations in Sub-Saharan Africa, Boniswa Sidwaba, said the initiative is a testament to their continued commitment to fostering a vibrant, inclusive creative community.

She added, “On a continent bursting with creativity and innovation, we wanted to shine a spotlight on the incredible talent emerging from Africa on platforms like ours.

“The African All Stars series will not only inspire aspiring creators but also provide valuable insights into the mechanics of content creation and digital storytelling through the lens of the creators themselves.”
