President Cyril Ramaphosa has firmly stated that the South African delegation heading to the United States (US) will remain focused on critical bilateral issues during upcoming talks with his counterpart, Donald Trump, despite recent tensions between the two nations.

“We are not going to be distracted by anything,” Ramaphosa said.

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) won’t take the alleged rape of seven-year-old Cwecwe to court, it has confirmed.

It said this is because of insufficient evidence in the case.

A former investigator linked to the high-profile Senzo Meyiwa murder case was targeted in an armed robbery and attempted kidnapping incident.

Despite the attack, police maintain that no sensitive evidence related to the ongoing trial has been compromised.

At least eight people have been killed in a shooting at Zama informal settlement at U Section, Umlazi, KwaZulu-Natal.

Police were called to the scene on Friday evening and discovered the lifeless bodies of six men and two women, aged 22 to 40 years old.
