Zandie Khumalo, never one to shy away from speaking her mind, recently took to social media to share her thoughts on the current state of celebrity culture, dropping some serious truth bombs along the way.
In a refreshingly candid post, Zandie shared a photo of Natasha Thahane on Instagram, and declared that she’s not fazed by the glitz and glamour of “so-called celebrities.”
She’s not interested in the typical celebrity hype, and her loyalty lies with real people—the fans who buy her music, rather than the stars who dominate headlines.
“If you know me, then you know how I don’t give a rat’s ass about the so-called celebrities,” Zandie wrote, unapologetically distancing herself from the fake personas that often come with fame.
Zandie says she’s never been one to seek validation from famous faces.
In fact, she revealed that she was once told her social media following would never grow because she doesn’t engage with other celebrities. But her response was simple: “Anginandaba,” meaning she couldn’t care less.
Zandie’s loyalty is to her fans—the “normal people” who actually support her music. She made it clear that she replies to regular people, not celebs, because they’re the ones who matter most to her. The “celebs,” as she calls them, can “go jump off a cliff” for all she cares. Ouch!
But, of course, even Zandie Khumalo has her exceptions when it comes to those she holds in high regard. In her post, she singled out Natasha Thahane, Ntando Duma, and her longtime favorite Babes Wodumo as the few “real” people in the industry.
“When it comes to this one and @dumantando, I will kill a bull,” she gushed, referring to Natasha and Ntando. Zandie’s respect for these two stems from their authenticity, with her describing them as the most realistic people she’s met in the entertainment industry.
And then there’s Babes Wodumo—Zandie’s all-time favorite, whom she affectionately calls her “blood.”
