We as parents fail to plan ahead and are unsure how to handle our teen’s misbehavior and rude attitude. Things quickly aggravate, and we’re back in the arguing mode. It is critical that we stop arguing before things get out of hand.

The key to success is to plan ahead of time. Even if our teen pushes all the wrong buttons, avoid getting drawn into an argument. We either plan what we will say and how we will say it, or we plan to say nothing at all rather than participate in the debate.
