Gcina Mkhize begs for help again

Actress Gcina Mkhize is appealing for assistance as the new owner of her auctioned home continues efforts to evict her and her family.

According to MDN News, Mkhize’s property was sold at auction after she allegedly defaulted on her bond payments.

However, the actress insists the bank acted unlawfully in selling the home, arguing that she was not given proper notice and that the process was flawed.

The situation has sparked heated debate on social media after the report was shared on X.

One user wrote: “It’s sad on the one hand, however most bank clients know the repercussions of defaulting on your payments. Buyers also must know that buying a house at an auction means you inherit the burden of evicting the tenants if the property is occupied.”

Another questioned the legality of the matter, saying: “I think the story is not complete. How can the bank sell your house without your consent? Is the bank the owner of the house or you, ma’am?”

A third commenter challenged Mkhize directly, writing: “Show us your proof of payment and that your bond account was in good standing prior to the auction.”

Others sympathised with both parties, highlighting the complications that come with auction purchases.

“Buying an occupied home at auction is asking for trouble,” one user said. “Basically, the buyer has been paying a bond for two years on a house he does not live in. Eviction court processes are time-consuming. You can’t even force them out.”
