Moghelingz praises SARS

Content creator Banele “Moghelingz” Ndaba sparked a social media debate after appearing on SABC, where he lauded the South African Revenue Service (SARS) for shifting its focus toward social media influencers.

During the interview, Banele suggested that this move could encourage content creators to professionalise their work and ensure tax compliance.

]The interview, which aired on National TV, quickly caught attention online when a clip surfaced on X (formerly Twitter).

However, reactions from users were largely critical.

Many accused Banele of delivering a scripted or sponsored message.

One user wrote, “lol he’s making it obvious that this is sponsored, how many hours did he practice?”

Another added, “You can spot a paid promo from a mile away.”

Some questioned his understanding of business and tax matters.

“So weird and scripted coz Banele doesn’t speak like this nor understand business this way,” commented one X user.

Others took aim at SARS, with one claiming, “SARS is now paying influencers to get their point across.”
