South African rapper Blue Pappi has reached a major milestone in his career after his 2024 single Took Me For A Nai surpassed one million streams on Spotify. The achievement marks the first time one of his songs has reached the seven-figure streaming mark on the platform.
The rapper shared the news on social media, revealing that Took Me For A Nai had officially become his first song to reach one million Spotify streams. In his post, he thanked God and expressed gratitude for hip hop as he celebrated the milestone with his supporters. The achievement comes nearly two years after the song’s original release in September 2024.
Took Me For A Nai arrived on 6 September 2024 and quickly became one of Blue Pappi’s most recognised solo releases. The song helped strengthen his profile as an individual artist while he continued making music with the Qwellers collective. At the beginning of 2025, the record received a remix featuring fellow South African rappers Blxckie and Ma-E, giving the track a fresh boost and expanding its reach to a wider audience. The remix was officially released on 31 January 2025.
The one million stream milestone adds another highlight to a busy period for the Ladysmith-born rapper. He recently released his new EP, ROAD TO EHLANE, adding another project to his growing catalogue as he continues to expand his solo discography. The EP follows a steady run of releases that have kept him active throughout the year.
Blue Pappi has also confirmed that more music is on the way. Following the release of ROAD TO EHLANE, he is now working on a new mixtape that is expected to be released at a later stage. While further details about the project have not yet been announced, reaching one million Spotify streams with Took Me For A Nai marks another significant chapter in his career as he continues building momentum both as a solo artist and as a member of the Qwellers.
