Bravo Le Roux’s family requests donation to bring rapper’s body back home

The family of late rapper Bravo Le Roux has launched a fundraiser to help cover the costs of bringing his body back to South Africa and to provide support for his young daughter following his death.

Bravo, whose real name was Sinesipho Peter, passed away in Switzerland on 22 January.

Since the news broke, tributes have continued to pour in from fans, peers and members of the public who have been reflecting on his life and legacy.

In a statement shared on Monday, Bravo’s family revealed that many people had reached out asking how they could assist during this painful period.

The family explained that the fundraiser was created in response to those requests, as they navigate the emotional and financial strain brought on by his passing.

“The family is facing the practical and financial challenges associated with repatriating Bravo to South Africa,” the statement read.

It added that the initiative aims to ease several urgent needs.

“The fundraiser has been created to help cover the costs related to returning Bravo to South Africa, immediate and necessary expenses connected to his passing and long-term support for his daughter. Any contribution is entirely voluntary and deeply appreciated.”

The family also expressed gratitude for the messages of sympathy and solidarity they have received, while appealing for space to grieve.

“The family is grateful for the kindness, messages and support received and kindly asks for privacy as they mourn.”
