The Reds are still favourites to pick up an away win.
Liverpool will be looking to get their English Premier League campaign back on track on Saturday night when they take on Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Arne Slot’s Reds have lost their last three Premier League matches, suffering 2-1 defeats at the hands of Crystal Palace, Chelsea and Manchester United.
The reigning champions need to steady the ship quickly and went some way to doing that already with a 5-1 hammering of Eintrach Frankfurt in the Uefa Champions League on Wednesday evening.
Liverpool hammered Eintracht away from home despite leaving Egyptian talisman Mohamed Salah on the bench for most of the match.
Salah is likely to return for the trip to the Bees, but the signs are encouraging for Liverpool in terms of a future without there star player. At 33, there can only be so long Salah can continue to perform at the highest level.
By his high standards, Salah has made a slow start to the season, with just three goals and three assists in 12 appearances.
Liverpool currently sit third in the Premier League table, just four points behind leaders Arsenal, so there is really no need to panic just yet.
But another loss at Brentford will certainly set tongues wagging.
The Bees have had a mixed start to the season, but have been good at home, beating Aston Villa and Manchester United, and drawing with Chelsea. Their only defeat so far at the Gtech came in a narrow 1-0 loss to Manchester City.
Keith Andrews’ side will be confident of causing Liverpool problems from set pieces, particularly their long throws which have been a real weapon this season.
Liverpool’s defence has looked fragile at times, and will need to hold firm against balls hurled into their box.
Slot’s side should have plenty to trouble Brentford at the other end of the pitch. Hugo Ekitike has made a fantastic start as a Liverpool player, the French attacker averaging a goal every other game in all competitions.
New striker Alexander Isak is a doubt to face Brentford, however, after picking up a hamstring injury in midweek.
Liverpool are favourites to win this match at 1.79 according to the latest Betway odds, with Brentford at 4.30 and a draw at 4.20.
