DJ Sliqe and MashBeatz are taking the next step in the rollout of their latest collaborative release, “Lapisa,” by inviting supporters to participate in the official music video shoot set to take place in Johannesburg.

The producers recently released the track alongside Dlophin_X, LaCabra and Lowfeye under the Rush-Awa banner, a creative collective that has continued to gain momentum within South Africa’s hip-hop landscape. Released on 5 June, “Lapisa” arrived following a series of previews and teasers that generated anticipation across social media platforms before its official debut. Early reactions from listeners have contributed to growing attention around the record, with fans praising the chemistry between the featured artists and the production style delivered by DJ Sliqe and MashBeatz.

As excitement around the single continues to build, the duo has now opened the doors for fans to become part of the visual experience. In a public invitation shared online, they encouraged supporters to attend the video shoot and help create what they described as a cultural moment tied to the song.

“We invite you to come share a cultural moment with us for the Lapisa Music Video tomorrow,” the announcement read.

The music video shoot was scheduled to take place on 8 June at 3 PM at Kwa Mai Mai in Johannesburg. Fans were asked to arrive dressed in “Bhinca” outfits, a style that has become a central visual theme throughout the song’s promotional campaign. The imagery and aesthetic associated with the release have consistently reflected elements of township culture and traditional-inspired street fashion, making the dress code a continuation of the track’s identity.

“Lapisa” has also gained visibility through Rush-Awa-related releases, including appearances connected to DJ Sliqe and MashBeatz’s recent activities. The song forms part of the growing catalogue associated with the collective, which has focused on bringing together established names and emerging talent within South African hip-hop.

With the music video now in production, the invitation offered supporters an opportunity to feature in the official visual while contributing to the atmosphere that has shaped the song’s rollout since its release. The gathering at Kwa Mai Mai is expected to bring together fans, creatives and supporters of the artists as work begins on the visual accompaniment to one of the latest releases from the Rush-Awa camp.
