Jastas Madoya became latest champion of the Uganda Open Golf Chmpionship in the professional category which held from December 1-4 at the Entebbe Golf Club.
On the par 71 golf course in Entebbe Madoya shot three consecutive rounds under course par. Having shot 65 , 68 and another 66 in the on days 1, 2 and 3; the calm long hitter was flawless throughout the four days of heavy contest with the only grey patch coming in the final round where he carded a 1-over par 72.
The Kenyan returned a total gross score of 271 in 72 holes representing 13-under par to dethrone defending champion Zimbabwean, Robson Chinhoi.
“I love Entebbe and the course, its green all over and nice weather. My first round of 65 gross motivated my game to the last round, though the final round was not so good. But I am happy for the win and will always look forward to coming back to Uganda,” Madoya said.
His countrymate Dismas Indiza finished second with a ground total of 276 gross, two strokes ahead of defending champion Robson Chinhoi from Zimbabwe who scored a total 288 gross.
