South African rapper iFani has officially released the “Shake” remix, arriving today with contributions from Sosoboy Fosho, Gaffi, Khitha Pinca and Musa. The new version revisits one of his most recognisable records, bringing together a new lineup of voices while maintaining the foundation of the original track.

“Shake” first gained prominence during the early phase of iFani’s mainstream breakthrough. The song was released in 2012 and later appeared on his debut album I Believes in Me (1st Quadrant), which dropped in 2013. The project marked a significant moment in his career, with “Shake” becoming one of the standout singles that contributed to the album’s commercial success. The track also achieved chart visibility, including a number one position on Club 808’s chart at the time of its release.

More than a decade later, the remix arrives as a continuation of that catalogue. The updated version introduces multiple collaborators, each adding new verses and perspectives to the track while retaining the original structure. The release follows teasers shared in the days leading up to the drop, indicating a coordinated rollout that includes visuals tied to the remix.

The timing of the remix also connects to iFani’s broader rollout strategy. In recent years, he has revisited the “I Believes in Me” series, which has been released in multiple phases referred to as quadrants. Following the first and second instalments, the artist has been preparing the next chapter titled I Believes in Me (Third Quadrant). The project has been referenced in previous releases and singles, positioning it as a continuation of the same conceptual framework that began with his debut.

The remix of “Shake” forms part of this ongoing rollout, linking past material with current output. By revisiting a track that played a role in establishing his early career, the release bridges the gap between earlier work and upcoming material. The inclusion of multiple featured artists also reflects a collaborative approach aligned with current trends in South African hip-hop.

With the remix now available, it adds to a sequence of releases connected to the “Third Quadrant” phase. The track’s release today places it within iFani’s current activity cycle, as he continues to expand on a catalogue that dates back to the early 2010s while preparing for the next full-length project.
