Jacobson Festus Kolawole, one of the Professional Golfers’Association (PGA) of Nigeria prolific players died on Tuesday January 4, 2022 after a brief illness in his home town Ewekoro in Ogun State at age 53.
The information was made known to SOKOnnect on Tuesday night in a statement signed by the Secretary of State PGA of Nigeria, Jide Bolaji.
The statement reads: “With grief in our hearts, we, the Professional Golfers Association (PGA) of Nigeria announce the sudden death of one of our members, Jacobson Festus Kolawole.”
“He was called to glory this afternoon, January 4, 2022; We pray God to uphold the family and friends he left behind and grant the deceased eternal rest. amen,” it said.
Jacobson Kolawole was until his death attached to Ikoyi Club 1938, Golf Section as a Resident PGA Pro and also in the Technical Team of the Lagos State Golf Association.
Recalled that Jacobson Kolawole in March 2021 PGA of Nigeria Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, contested one of the positions to contribute his quota towards the development of golf in Nigeria.
He died leaving behind a wife, three children; three brothers, just as his parents long departed the earth.
