Makhadzi dumps her longtime DJ

Award-winning Limpopo star Makhadzi has cut ties with her longtime DJ, Snani, after years of working together, citing repeated absenteeism and lack of commitment.

Snani, who has been part of the “Kota To” hitmaker’s team for nearly four years, reportedly began missing major performances almost a year ago.

According to sources, he would cancel at the last minute, often claiming to be ill, only for photos to surface showing him at other bookings.

“He would call in sick for work on the last hour, and the team had to make a plan,” a close associate told Sunday World.

“The job requires full commitment, everyone from the dancers to the back-up singers and DJs are on full-time contracts. But he kept making excuses.”

Confirming the split, Makhadzi expressed her disappointment.

“I take my work seriously. I respect my fans and the people who support me. I need someone in my team who shows the same respect. Snani was sometimes unavailable or double-booked himself, knowing he is my full-time DJ. It’s sad because he is like a brother to me, but I had to let him go.”

Snani has since announced on social media that he is relocating back to Limpopo and is available for bookings.

“Spane se fedile. Time to go home and start afresh,” he wrote, adding that the industry now places more value on social media numbers than on talent.

“It’s no longer about your skills or creativity. They need numbers these days.”

The timing comes as Makhadzi prepares for her highly anticipated One Woman Show, set for December 20 and 21 at Makhuvha and Rabali Stadiums in Limpopo, alongside the release of her upcoming album.
